The Academy

What Monnarc Is.

Monnarc Acting Academy is a professional acting school based in Amsterdam. We train actors in a technique that does not refine performances. It transforms the actor.

Our programmes are built for serious beginners. Adults who have never trained, but who take the craft seriously and want to start properly rather than dabble. If you have always felt drawn to acting and want to begin the right way, this is where you start. And if you have performed before but feel something fundamental is still missing, you are welcome here too.

We do not teach a little of everything. We go deep into one approach and we do not apologise for the standards we hold.

The Technique

Circumstances. Action. Truth.

The approach we teach is inspired by the work of Stella Adler, one of the most rigorous and transformative acting methodologies ever created.

The given circumstances of the scene are everything. Where you are, who you are, what has happened, what you want. An actor who understands the circumstances does not need to invent emotion. The emotion follows.

Action is what you are actively pursuing in every moment. Not what you feel. Not what you think. What you are doing. Whether in a scene with others or alone on stage, every moment has an action. Without it, there is nothing to play.

Truth is the result. When circumstances are clear and action is specific, truth happens on its own. It cannot be forced. It can only be created.

The Teacher

Verónica Coronel.

Founder & Acting Teacher, Monnarc Acting Academy.

Verónica is an actress, theatre maker, and acting teacher. She trained for three years in the Fundamentals of Scenic Arts in Venezuela, and has spent the past seven years working as a teacher and director.

Her teaching is inspired by the work of Stella Adler. She has worked with students at every level of experience and, as a director, has created and staged her own theatre productions.

She also brings acting experience across theatre, television, and film, including Así es la Química.

01. The Entry Point

The Discovery

Find out what acting really is.

You have watched performances that stopped time. You have also watched performances that left you completely cold. The difference is not talent. It is not experience. It is something else entirely.

In this workshop you will begin to understand what that something is. Not as a concept. As an experience.

This is where you begin. You do not need experience. You need to want the real thing, not a hobby night. Discovery is for adults who are serious about learning to act properly, from the ground up.

Two hours of hands-on work. Exercises, short scene work, and direct guidance from Verónica. Maximum 15 people. No experience required, nothing to prepare.

02. The Committed Path

The Foundation

Twelve weeks of serious craft.

Monnarc's 12-week programme is for anyone ready to stop wondering and start training properly. One technique. One teacher. Maximum 15 students. The next group begins 12 September.

Twenty-four hours of direct guidance across twelve sessions of two hours each. The first four build the complete foundation: imagination, circumstances, action, justification, characterisation, and integration. The final four put it into practice through scene work, with personal feedback throughout.

You will leave with a method that works. Not a collection of tips that fade after the course. A repeatable process you can apply to every role, every scene, every rehearsal, for the rest of your life as an actor.

03. By Invitation

The Mastery

For those who are ready to go further.

The Mastery is an invitation-only six-month immersion into serious craft. It is not open to the public. Selection is personal and based on commitment, coachability, and readiness. This is not an application you submit. It is a conversation we have when the time is right.
